Comet Energy Park is a grid-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) under development by Hadstone Energy near Blackwater, in Central Queensland. Since the sale of our Broadsound project, Comet is our company's flagship Australian project.
Battery storage sits at the heart of the shift to renewables: it captures energy when generation is high and releases it when demand peaks, firming the grid and providing reliable power to Queensland's crucial mining industry. Comet Energy Park is being developed to play that role in the Central Queensland network.
