WATCHFIELD LAWN

Capacity: 5.1 MW

Status: Operational

The solar farm produces about 5 million kilowatt hours per year of renewable electricity, enough to power over 1,250 average UK households. The site was selected due to its flat fields, a location secluded from local residents but also close to the M5 to facilitate construction traffic access. Construction of the solar farm commenced in November 2013 and it became operational on 1 March 2014. Grazing has now started again on the fields.

"Working with Hadstone has been a positive experience for us. Communication has been good throughout the process and they seem to have the right people working for them to make things happen. Leasing some of our land to Hadstone gives us fixed income for many years to come, helping us to secure the future of our farm." - Mr and Mrs Reason, Watchfield Lawn
