PRIORS BYNE

Capacity: 7.5 MW

Status: Operating

The solar farm produces 7.5 million hours of renewable electricity. The site was selected due to its secluded location, surrounded by woodland, and south facing, sloping fields. A full landscape and visual impact assessment was undertaken, a public consultation held at the village hall in Partridge Green and a planning application submitted. Despite a recommendation from the planning officer, and no objections from consultees, the local planning authority did not grant planning permission, however we successfully appealed this decision. Construction took place in summer 2015, and the solar farm is operational as of December 2015.
